USA Rice Releases Educational DVD: “Exploring the World of U.S. Rice”

Cooking Videos, Recipes and Rice Information for Foodservice Industry

Arlington, VA, June 12, 2007 – “Exploring the World of U.S. Rice,” a new educational DVD by the USA Rice Federation in collaboration with The Culinary Institute of America (CIA), is now available for chefs, culinary professionals and students seeking detailed product information, training videos and inspiring recipes using rice. The comprehensive rice DVD is designed to support foodservice operators as they develop innovative culinary creations and on-trend menu items, and culinary schools as they train future chefs on how to use rice to meet the demands of today’s consumers.

Content for the DVD was developed by an expert team of culinary professionals from the CIA and USA Rice Federation and addresses trends and insights obtained through proprietary industry research. With more than 115 minutes of professional-quality video information and instruction, the DVD is presented in a clear and concise format, consisting of three, easy-to-use sections:

  • All About Rice – Learn the facts about U.S. rice including types & characteristics, how it’s grown and harvested, and techniques to prepare it perfectly

  • Video Cooking Demonstrations with CIA Chefs – Watch chefs prepare a variety of rice dishes that combine classic techniques with innovative, on-trend menu ideas
    • Examples: Chicken, Chorizo and Saffron Paella; Seven-Rice Tabbouleh Salad; Maki Sushi; Miso and Soy Glazed Salmon Rice Bowl; Beet and Pancetta Risotto; and Rice Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms

  • Printable Recipes – Rice dishes that serve as great inspiration for all menus
